Large System Integration
Very large system integration VLSI competences are key when bringing together subsystems so they function together as one system. Today's systems need to be connected. As most systems were originally designed for silo operation with no thought of future connectivity, integrating them successfully requires knowledge, understanding and competences.
Large scale systems integration requires a generalist view. Successfully integrated large systems take information from a great number of information generators and sensors and create one complete picture.
Cassidian has the competences for Large System Integration - to link the widest range of individual platforms and subsystems into a single effective network.
The System Design Centre is an experimentation and simulation environment that helps in getting an overview of the customers' subsystems and their connections and dependencies. It is possible to set up a simulation and see how the integrated system would work in case of a major accident, a military mission, or a natural disaster, for example. This helps test the integrated systems and also makes it possible for the customer to optimally prepare even for rare occurrences.
Examples of very large scale systems integration VLSI, matching customers' needs with existing and new products:
Maritime security: IMARSEC® - the Integrated Maritime Security System is a comprehensive maritime security system for the protection of ports, coastlines and maritime areas.
Coastal Surveillance Systems for surveillance over coastal areas and sea borders; maritime surveillance.
Coastal security: Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) system from Signalis is a large integrated system that allows operators to monitor and control maritime areas.
Site security: SecuriSyte is an application for managing site security. It is an interface that combines and complements the site surveillance subsystems.
