The Cassidian IMARSEC® system for maritime safety and security is designed to efficiently protect seaports, coastlines, territorial waters and the Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ) through a combination of two innovative integrated solutions: the IMARSEC® Intelligence System and the IMARSEC® Coordination System, combining an early warning concept with a network centric approach.

IMARSEC® is the system of systems that integrates solutions such as VTS, Critical Site Protection Systems, Coastal Surveillance and their associated services within the IMARSEC® Intelligence System. The IMARSEC® Coordination System is the maritime Command & Control centre that enables the information coming from the different systems to be shared. It thus provides complete situation awareness through C4ISR capabilities.

More than 20 ports worldwide have integrated the Cassidian systems into their security plans. The latest major reference is the TangerMed safety and security contract. Cassidian systems have been deployed worldwide at both regional and national level. Among many others, Spationav in France is the largest national coastal surveillance system in Europe deployed for the Navy.

Cassidian systems have been chosen either for their aircraft detection means (MPA for the Deepwater US Programme) or for their command and control centres (C4I maritime system in Mexico). This includes delivery of maritime communication systems to navy authorities. The latest major coastal and maritime reference is the integrated border security system for Qatar, including offshore platforms.
