Government departments currently use multiple Secure and Insecure Voice Systems and Terminals that do not easily interoperate. ECTOCRYP® Black alleviates the problem of users requiring specialised terminals, or a secure environment to access secure communications into a fixed infrastructure. Users are able to hold conversations of up to TOP SECRET level by calling other users through ECTOCRYP® Black.

ECTOCRYP® Black from CASSIDIAN is the world's only 120 channel Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol (SCIP) gateway fitting in a standard 19" 6U rack. ECTOCRYP® Black also provides a platform for legacy terminal connections. The Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol (SCIP) suite enables end-to-end encryption of voice services over minimal bandwidth links. SCIP is emerging as the standard for US and NATO Secure Voice Communications.
