Air Command & Reporting Centres

Solutions for the management of regional airspace through real-time systems

Command & Reporting Center

Air Command & Reporting Centres solutions focus on surveillance, airspace management, air picture production, threat evaluation and mission control.

The GIADS (German Improved Air Defence System) Command & Reporting Centre (CRC) solution from Cassidian has been operational with the German Air Force since 2000, with the task of military surveillance for the airspace over Germany and neighbouring airspaces. The system processes air traffic information delivered by ground-based radar systems for display on the enhanced workstations. The military air situation displayed is automatically supplemented with civil ATC data (e.g. air situation from Eurocontrol, flight schedules).

By using GIADS, airborne objects are detected and automatically identified using the latest technology which provides a continuously updated air situation picture. The air situation data is exchanged with neighbouring control and reporting centres (CRC) within the framework of the NATO Integrated Air Defence System, NATINADS. The air situation picture, along with information relevant to the assignment, is put at the disposal of other activities and CRCs.
